WINDOWS 98/ME 

Note for Win98 users: Please prepare Windows 98 cd since you may be asked to insert it in following steps. 

Setting your network card to work with the Alcatel SpeedTouch 510  

1. Click on Start, Settings and click on Control Panel.

2. Double click on the Network icon.

3. Double click on the TCP/IP -> "network card name", depending on the make of your 
network card (ex Realtek RTL8139/810X.....) family 

4. Tick "Use the following IP address" and fill in as follows:

IP address: 10.0.0.1

Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0

5. Click OK and click another OK to exit the Network Configuration, this will prompt to restart your computer, 
click YES and your network card is set.

6. For users asking for Windows 98 cd please insert it now

Setting Up the Alcatel SpeedTouch 510 connection 

1. Open My Computer on the Desktop icon.

2. Double click on Make New Connection. (For Windows ME Dial up Networking is found in the Control Panel)

3. For Company name type in: ADSL and Select a device, Microsoft VPN Adapter must be selected, click Next.

4. For the host name and IP address type in: 10.0.0.138, click next

5. Click Finish to create the ADSL connection.

6. Right click on the ADSL icon in the Dial up Networking and click Properties.

7. Go on Server Types and make sure that ONLY TCP/IP is ticked else take off very goods.

8. Click on (TCP/IP Settings) and check that "Use IP header Compression" is switched off, click OK.

9. Double click on the ADSL icon make sure you 
enter your username@global, the correct password and click connect.
