WINDOWS 2K/XP 


Setting your network card to work with the Alcatel SpeedTouch 510 

1. Go on Start, and click on Control Panel.

2. Double click on the Network Connection icon.( If the control panel looks different 
just check on the left column and click on Switch to classic view)
On Windows 2000 this should be Network and Dial UP connections.

3. Make sure that the Local Area Connection is enabled, if not right click on Local Area 
Connection and click on Enabled. 
Now, right click on Local Area connection and select Properties.

4. Double click on Internet Protocol(TCP/IP). 

5. Mark 'Use the following IP address' and fill in as follows:

IP: 10.0.0.1
Subnet: 255.0.0.0

Click OK to save settings.

Setting Up the Alcatel SpeedTouch 510 Connection 

1. Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, Communication and click New Connection Wizard and the Network Connection Wizard will open 

2. Select Connect to the network at my workplace (using dial-up or VPN) and click Next

3. Select Virtual Private Network Connection and click Next

4. In the Company Name type : ADSL then click Next

5. Select Do Not Dial The Initial Connection and click Next (appears only if you have a dial up connection)

6. In the host name type : 10.0.0.138 then click Next

7. Check the: Add a shortcut to this connection to my Desktop and click Finish

8. Click on the Properties button

9. Go on the Security tab select Advanced and click on Settings

10. Make sure that the Data encryption has Optional encryption (connect even if not encryption) 
In the Allow these protocols select ONLY the Unencrypted Password PAP and Click OK.

11. Click OK to save the Properties

Type your User Name: username@global
Type your Password.


Click on Connect to connect to ADSL 

12. If it does not connect please restart your computer before connecting.
